The Raleigh-Wake County Dental Society is a professional health organization composed of nearly 300 dentists. Active membership is open to all licensed dentists working and/or living in Wake County. The RWCDS was formed in 1975, growing out of the Raleigh Dental Society and reflecting the area’s increasing growth in both population and dentists. The RWCDS serves to promote oral health in the Wake County community, to provide continuing education, and to represent the interests of the dental profession in Wake County.
The RWCDS is guided under the direction of an Executive Board consisting of a President, a President-Elect, a Secretary, Treasurer, an Editor, two Members-at-Large, Webmaster and served by several committees. The Society’s members elect a new Executive Board annually.
